TEN football fans were arrested after trouble broke out during and after Crystal Palace’s game against Charlton on Saturday.
Crystal Palace beat Charlton 2-1 on Saturday at Selhurst Park in a hotly contested south London derby.
Extra police officers were drafted in for the game, some coming from neighbouring boroughs.
During the game, several rows of seats and the toilets in the away end were damaged. Flares were also lit in the away section.
After the match, away fans were held in Park Road by a police cordon while Palace fans made their way home.
About 3,000 Charlton supporters were escorted down Sangley Road towards Norwood Junction.
A minority of troublemakers smashed cars and damaged residents’ property as they made their way home.
Police are investigating the damage that was caused and are urging residents with any information to call 101.
