MORE than 70 girls have been trampolining, boxing and dancing in a new Girls’ Activity Day aimed at getting them to try new things.
Fourteen and 15-years-olds from six Bexley secondary schools took part in the day at the Crook Log Leisure Centre, in Brampton Road, Bexleyheath.
They threw themselves into zumba fitness dancing, a boxing workout and a cycling session.
The day, on December 5, was organised by Bexley Council. Parkwood Leisure provided free facilities and offered a month’s free membership to students.
Coaches from Dartford Trampoline Club also gave their time for free.
Councillor John Fuller, cabinet member for education, said: “Days like this give the students an opportunity to try different activities which are available to them in the borough.
“Hopefully they will continue to take part in them outside of school.”
