The Lewisham Dance Showcase will interest parents whose kids have come home from school claiming they’ve done “nothing” that day. For its two-night run, 350 young people from primary and secondary schools in the borough will be showing off their skill and creativity in dance.
The event — organised by leading dance centre Laban, in partnership with The Broadway, Catford — offers students the chance to showcase a range of dance styles including contemporary, hip hop, classical Indian-inspired dance and ballroom to their peers in a professional theatre environment.
Some 20 schools from across the borough have submitted work to be performed in one of two evening performances — promising for a very diverse programme.
