Some 15 years after first appearing on Sega and Nintendo games systems, Earthworm Jim is set to make his debut on the iPhone and iPod Touch.
The remake of the classic action/platform game will evoke fond memories among gamers while no doubt also endearing the groovy worm superhero to a new generation of fans.
It seems all the style and humour of the original are being brought back in the new version from Gameloft.
The game will features 16 locations that let players run, gun, swing from hooks, launch cows and rocket through speed levels.
There will be 12 types of enemies and nine bosses.
Side-scrolling, space racing, bungee jumping and underwater levels will keep the gameplay nicely varied.
Earthworm Jim's cult soundtrack has been remastered for the new version.
It looks like all adding up to a whole lot of fun when the games appears in the App Store on an as yet unspecified date.
