Sir Michael Caine has said he would star in a film about the Hatton Garden heist “in an instant”.
A film about the raid is reportedly in the works, with scriptwriter Simon Cluett hinting that he would like to bring Sir Michael, Terence Stamp or Ray Winstone on board.
And it is thought Sir Michael would be most likely play Dartford's Brian Reader, the 76-year-old who masterminded the heist.
This comes just days after News Shopper picked him as top of our wish list of actors who could play the Reader, 76, the eldest of the group’s ringleaders and known as ‘The Master’.
Reader, of Dartford Road, is due to be sentenced in March after pleading guilty to his involvement in the robbery.

According to The Times, Sir Michael, 82, said: “There is a wish list, and at least one of those names is on that list.”
“I read the paper today about the Hatton Garden robbery, and everyone’s suggesting that I do the film with Ray Winstone. And I would do it in an instant.”
The ransacked vault into which the gang drilled
Speaking to Magic Radio, Sir Michael added: “It just goes to show, you get to my age and you say there’s no parts, and then suddenly you’re sitting there and there’s a part in the newspaper – if someone’s got the time to sit down and write it.
“Now I’ve said ‘yes’.”
But he had some reservations, adding: “The money’s got to be good too. I’m not going to do it for nothing.”
The Hatton Garden safe deposit raid saw valuables including gold, diamonds and sapphires worth up to £14 million stolen when the gang of ageing burglars drilled their way into a vault at the heart of London’s jewellery quarter.
