GREENWICH human Beatbox artist Marvin Rothery, aka MARV-ILL, will battle against other talented performers for the chance to compete in the grand final of the national Vauxhall Beatbox Championships.

Each finalist taking part in the competition's London heat at the O2 Islington Academy on Thursday must produce drum beats, rhythm and musical sounds using only their mouth, lips, tongue and voices to impress the crowd and judges who will also be performing exclusive live sets.

Loud-mouth legend Stig of the Dump will be conducting proceedings and the crowd will be treated to an entirely new concept for the event – the crew battle.

For the first time ever, two or more groups of beatboxers will perform a staged clash surrounded by breakdancers.

The grand final will be held at the same venue on June 25.
