AN ERITH musician is launching a new club where aspiring drummers can attend to try out new styles and instruments. Chris Leeds is starting up Erith Drum Club this month, after winning a Scarman Trust Community Champion Award.
Between January and March, Chris will hold eight workshops covering four drumming traditions: Peruvian, Balkan, Indonesian and Japanese. Experts from each style will visit the club.
Chris said: "I want these sessions to be the springboard to forming a regular drum club in Erith where participants can explore many different ways of playing drums and percussion, different sounds and rhythms, and different ways of putting music together."
