Staff from the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust will be looking to repeat their incredible Christmas number one feat from 2015 by singing for charity.

The Trust’s choir will perform on the ‘Stand Together’ album being released for Christmas with ten tracks from the 1,400 singers across the different NHS Trusts.

Two years ago the choir's song 'A Bridge Over You' hit number one on the UK singles charts at Christmas.

The theme of the album is solidarity through music and a message of hope, with the funds raised going to each NHS Trust own charity.

Caroline Smith, children’s physiotherapist and choir coordinator, said: ‘’We’re so proud of this album and all of the choirs taking part.

“We certainly know from our own experiences over the last few years the power of music, the way it can connect you to people and carry a message, in a way no other medium can.

“It’s a privilege and a pleasure to stand alongside such dedicated and passionate people, and we hope everyone supports the album and most importantly - enjoys it.”

The album, Choirs With Purpose, is available to pre-order on Amazon ahead of its release on December 15.

The single, released on 24 November, is a modern day re-working of Sir Paul McCartney’s classic ‘’We All Stand Together’’ which has been recorded with the full approval of the legend himself.
