An award-winning Blackheath restaurant run by MasterChef finalists is set to celebrate its fifth year in business with a 12-course tasting menu.

Copper and Ink, located in Blackheath Village, is run by former MasterChef 2015 finalist Tony Rodd with partner Becky Cummings, alongside Head Chef Rob Parks, who was a MasterChef semi-finalist in 2015.

According to Tony, the chefs met during filming for MasterChef in 2015, where they found “an affinity for fine dining and have worked together in the kitchen ever since.”

The restaurant first opened its doors in late 2018, offering guests a fine dining experience without, according to owner Tony, “the stiffness of a Central London eatery.”

The restaurant décor features artwork by Liam Brazier, with a modern feel featuring dark painted walls and dried flowers.

Guests who visit Copper and Ink can expect to dine on a monthly changing menu using seasonal produce and ingredients, with dishes inspired from around the world.

The menu has been known to feature dishes from countries such as Scandinavia, France and Japan.

However, according to Tony, despite “popular demand” for dishes they have “never brought back a dish”, in order to deliver on their constantly changing menu.

Alongside the food, Copper and Ink also boasts a wine menu curated by sommelier Becky, featuring a unique, cosmopolitan selection of wines that change on a monthly basis, from countries like Transylvania and Japan.

The restaurant has won a number of awards since it first opened its doors.

Most recently it was awarded two AA Rosettes and was listed as one of the Top 100 Local Restaurants in The Good Food Guide 2023.

Alongside its seasonally changing menu and wine list, Copper and Ink also holds special events for guests, with a celebratory 12 course dinner on December 2 to mark the restaurant's five-year anniversary.

For one night, guests will have the chance to dine on some of the chef’s favourite dishes, which will be “reimagined” to mark the occasion.
