From outdoor cinemas to under the sea themed soft play – here’s a roundup of some fun activities you can do with the kids over the summer holidays.

Whether you have little ones in need of entertaining or older kids looking for things to do there are plenty of things going on in south east London over the school holidays.

We’ve rounded up some of the best things to do in south east London if you’re looking for a local day out:

Tractor rides at Woodlands Farm

Hop abord a tractor at Woodlands Farm in Shooters Hill and get a guided tour of the farm and all its inhabitants.

You can get a 15-minute tractor ride around the farm and an hour guided tour with a chance to spot farm animals from sheep, pigs, ponies, ducks, and chickens.

Tractor rides cost £6 and must be booked online in advance.

The farm is also offering a number of other free and ticketed events over the summer holidays including pond dipping, crafting sessions and orienteering.

Summer fun at the O2

The O2 in Greenwich has a number of activities on offer for children as young as three to whether you are looking to see a film, do some shopping or take part in something a little more daring.

For children aged five and above that love a dance or two, head over to the O2 in Greenwich for their “Neon Nights’ event.

For £14.95 per child, kids will have a two-hour slot to dance to songs played by a DJ along with a complimentary glow stick, hotdog and unlimited squash.

Children aged three and above seeking some thrills can try out their new IFLY Indoor Skydiving where they’ll get a chance to experience the thrill of skydiving within an indoor wind tunnel.

Watch a film at Peckham’s Rooftop Cinema Club

Located on top of Peckham’s Bussey Building, The Rooftop Cinema Club is a great place to enjoy an outdoor cinema experience in south east London.

Tickets start at £5.95 for children with a packed summer calendar rom new releases like The Little Mermaid and Barbie to classics including E.T Guests will be able to watch a film from a cinema deckchair and if you get peckish the cinema offers a range of pizzas, snack, popcorn and a bar for the adults.

Watch a Planetarium Show at Greenwich Observatory

On a rainy-day head to the Royal Observatory in Greenwich Park to explore space with one of their immersive Planetarium shows.

They have a range of different shows for all ages from Ted’s Space Adventure for children aged under seven.

Older kids can enjoy shows like Moonbase taking you on an immersive tour of the moon and how we as humans could live on it.

Tickets cost £6 for a child, £12 for an adult and are free to members with shows running throughout the day.

Burn off some energy at an Under the Sea themed soft play

If your little one’s love sea creatures then why not head over to the Horniman Museum in Forest Hill for their new soft play experience themed after their aquarian with under the sea creatures.

The soft play will feature marine themed play areas, fish shaped rockers and bubbling ball ponds.

Afterwards why not take a look around the museums free exhibitions and other ticketed exhibits like their real life aquarium and butterfly house.

The Under the Sea Soft Play is open until September 3 with tickets costing £2.50 for an adult and £7.50 for a child.

Sessions can be booked in advance with sessions lasting one hour per slot.
