'California Dreamin'. A stunning detached 4 bedroom period home, which combines the charm and character of an older property with modern day style and comfort. Its private setting within a walled garden plus the white rendered walls and sandstone paving all contribute to that sense of Californian outdoor lifestyle. The house has a number of great qualities which makes this property a fascinating proposition.

As you enter the grounds you are transported into an amazing garden, designed by Charlotte Rowe with plentiful hard and soft landscaping and architectural planting to enhance the space.

The ground floor of the house flows very well with an entrance hall that is open plan to the kitchen/dining room. The lounge is well proportioned with french doors into the rear garden. The modern Brayer Design kitchen is well designed with a central island unit incorporating the integrated ventilation induction hob, undercounter wine cabinet, breakfast bar and all Siemens appliances. The stainless steel sink and Quooker boiling tap all add to the modern day conveniences. From the kitchen you enter the reading room with its bifold doors linking the house and garden perfectly.

On the first floor the same sense of style continues with a master bedroom that has ample fitted wardrobes. There are three further bedrooms, boutique family bathroom and shower room that complement the house design.

Another wonderful feature is the detached home office on the southeast side of the property. It offers privacy and adaptable space. In these current times of 'working from home' this has proved a real bonus. At the far end of the main garden is a good size timber garage that was recently constructed. There is also off street parking in front of the garage.

The garden is a real delight and the main lawned area enjoys the afternoon and evening sun, a perfect spot to relax and finish the day. The relaxing east patio captures the morning sun beautifully. All in all an amazing home, that really does need to be seen to be appreciated.

A little history: During the Victorian era Chislehurst became a fashionable suburb following the construction of the railway in 1865. The Whitehouse was built in 1890 and served as the residence of the Coach Master who was in the employ of the occupants of the main house, now Hatfield, further along the road. At the Coach Master's house, the hay was pulled up into what is now the Master bedroom, and the horses were shod in what is now the Kitchen/Dining room. The Kyd Brook is a small river that runs under part of the garden. Circa 1960, as part of a river management program, the Environmental Agency secured a concrete culvert that is reviewed annually. The river runs along the side of Lubbock Road just around the corner and daylights in the gardens further along Lower Camden. It eventually links up with the River Quaggy that flows into the Thames.
