A study has found that Bromley provides the best value for money when buying a house in London with a garden.

The research by PlumbNation compared London’s average house prices with the average sizes of private outdoor space.

It calculated the average cost of a property per m2 of garden space to reveal the most expensive (and most affordable) gardens in the capital.

The London Borough of Bromley has a property value per square metre of outdoor space of £1,313.95 - the cheapest found in the capital.

Bromley also reported to have the largest gardens in London, with the average size of outdoor space reaching 331.10 m2.

Coming close in second for best value is Bexley, where the average property value per square metre of garden stands at £1,429.34.

In third place is Croydon, where the average cost of a property per square metre of garden is £1,452.68.

Meanwhile Kensington and Chelsea topped the list for being the most expensive area with the average property value per square metre of garden being a whopping £13,656.34.
