Apex Contractors in Bexley has been an insurance repair specialist for more than 15 years and one of Crawford & Company’s best performing contractors.

Over the past few months it has experienced the challenges that any business faces in this current economic climate but through adversity it has decided to make a significant investment in its management structure to secure the future success of the company.

Andrew Cox has been appointed managing director of Apex Holdings, bringing with him an exceptional pedigree in the building industry that can only reaffirm the company's commitment to moving forward.

Over a career that spans 21 years in the building trade Mr Cox has a track record in launching new businesses and delivering on high expectation and profitability.

His career began at Osborne and over the course of 15 years he built its design and build division into one of the most profitable in the business before being made director in charge of the building and developments company overseeing approximately £10m worth of commercial investment.

A further two years with Berkeley Homes as project director Mr Cox was responsible for some of the group’s largest mixed use developments, including Holborough Valley in Kent (approx 750 homes plus additional facilities) and Royal Clarence Yard in Hampshire (approx £200m development of residential, commercial and leisure facilities).

Kai Midgely, chairman of Apex Holdings, said: “We could see Andrew’s huge potential to help our business grow when he first joined us nearly four years ago.

“Andrew was asked to join us as head of the property development division focusing on the acquisition of redundant industrial and employment sites for residential regeneration.

"Andrew’s intimate knowledge and understanding of the planning process was vital and to date we can proudly boast a 100 per cent success record in planning consents all resulting from Andrew’s diligence and business acumen.

"I have no doubt his appointment as managing director will mark a huge step forward in Apex’s future.”

Already the business has been invigorated with some significant changes to working practice.

Mr Cox said: “Our focus this year is to develop and nurture our insurance building services division.

“We have an extremely strong track record with the likes of Crawford & Company and with a skilled insurance team in place we have already begun to make significant changes to tap into this lucrative market further.

"I am keen to introduce a more methodical approach to insurance claims management which will ensure we deliver on our expectation.

"The challenge must be sustainable and I am confident that Apex can deliver a quality of service second to none.”
