As an avid cricket fan who has followed club cricket for many years, my memories of watching Barnet CC seem to consist of 'crowds' of around 15, primarily players' wives, girlfriends and children. This can scarcely compare with the 1,800 who regularly follow Barnet FC. I must reiterate that there is never any trouble at Barnet FC's matches, and that crowd estimates of 5,000 are a gross misinterpretation.
Oak Hill Park in New Barnet would be an excellent location for the cricket club. The area of Barnet would gain a state-of-the-art stadium, where young athletes could practice instead of playing computer games, and increased employment opportunities for the local community. I, and many others, have no desire to support Milton Keynes Barnet, and urge your readers to support the proposed development. If you do not, think what you could be losing.
