Adult Learners' Week runs 17-23 May and Trust Thamesmead is working with local service providers to lay on free workshops for Thamesmead residents.
Monday 19 May - Radio skills workshop - being held at the Arnott Community Centre and hosted by 103.7fm TGR Sound, the workshop is devised to help people with their confidence and learn what it is like behind the mic.
*Tuesday 20 May - Learndirect Tasters and Guidance at the Southlake Centre, Seacourt Road Wednesday 21 May - Silver Surfers Day - another fantastic event taking place at the Arnott Community Centre - you are never too old to learn how to use a computer, the internet and email!
Wednesday 21 May - Sports and Leisure Day - another event happening on the Wednesday during Adult Learners' Week - a bowls tournament. No previous experience needed. The Trust has a team competing - would you like to?
*Thursday 22 May - Surf into Health - being held at Thamesmead Library, residents can learn how to use and choose the best health related websites around!
Friday 23 May - Learning to Work Day - various workshops including floristry and hairstyling will be held in the reception area of the Trust, 10:00am-3:00pm. Residents will also be able to find out how the workshops can lead to free training and job opportunities too.
Friday 23 May - Climbing Wall Sessions - there will also be a mobile climbing wall outside the Trust, 11:00am-3:00pm, offering free climbing sessions.
