Crossway Road Closures
Major road improvement works will be starting at Crossway, Thamesmead between Nickleby Close and Curlew Close on Monday 10 March 2008.
These works will improve the condition of the structures, road surface and footways and will enable this section to become public highway.
The project includes remedial works to three structures which require short sections of Crossway to be closed for 10-12 week periods.
There will be three separate bridge closures. The first of these will start on 10 March between Pointer Close and Eastgate Close. Access will be available to all side roads at all times either side of the closure.
Buses will continue to serve both open legs of Crossway but will not be able to run in a circular route as they do now until all the works are completed. Information on bus diversions can be obtained from London Buses on 0845 300 7000.
A spokesman for Tilfen Land said: "We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused by these works but by carrying them out now we can avert potentially greater disruption in the future."
