Trust Thamesmead is celebrating Shrove Tuesday with a pancake race taking place in Thamesmead Town Centre.
Several Thamesmead companies including Trust Thamesmead, Gallions Housing Association, Safer Neighbourhood Team, Vet Care, Harrison Ingram, Main's Amis Estates, McDonalds, Argos and Tiger Cubz previously known as Tigers Eye have submitted teams of four to battle it out for the title of Winner of the Thamesmead Town Centre Pancake Race 2008'.
The race will start and end outside Trust Thamesmead's office, 19a Joyce Dawson Way in Thamesmead Town Centre at 12 noon and see participants run along the canal, over the bridge where they will have to toss their pancakes, back down the other side of the canal via the clock tower and over a second bridge back to the Trust.
Trust Thamesmead's Marketing and Communications Officer Julia Hickson said: "We wanted to bring Thamesmead town centre traders together and we couldn't think of a better recipe for fun."
