AT LAST month's meeting, Jack Wheeler gave us an interesting talk with slides on Japanese gardens.
After retiring, Mr Wheeler took an Open University course on garden design, which resulted in a trip to Japan to learn new ways of laying out a garden.
He found gardens of beauty, harmony, tranquillity and peace.
Water, rocks, trees and shrubs are all tastefully arranged.
Mr Wheeler has a beautiful Japanese-style garden of his own.
The next meeting on March 17 is titled Going, Going, Gone and will be held at St Patricks Hall at 7.30pm. Visitors are welcome.
