AT THE club's last meeting, president Rosemary Washer and secretary David Rennie showed off collections.

Ms Washer showed Kenya 1963 to 1995 and USA 1985 to 1996. The displays consisted of stamps and miniature sheets with many commemorative, thematic and anniversary items, both of a national or an international theme or event.

Common events in which both countries issued special stamps included, the Olympic Games' issues of 1976, 1984, 1988, and 1992, while common themes included flowers and birds.

For the second half of the evening, Mr Rennie put up his display of George VI material from India (including Idar, Indore, and Jaipur), Ireland and Jamaica.

He showed mint stamps and a wide variety of covers and postal stationery including flights, censors and military mail as well as high franking commercial items.

The society meets in the Public Hall, Bromley Road, Beckenham. Visitors, guests and new members are always welcome.
