STANHOPE Ladies Bowling Club celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.
The club was formed in 1947 and affiliated to the Kent County Women's Bowling Association in 1948.
Although the club has had a happy history, it was forced to move from the ground in Stanhope Grove to the Beckenham Men's Bowling Club at the recreation ground in Croydon Road, Beckenham in 1989.
The club now enjoys a close association with its male equivalent and both clubs continue to welcome new members.
Arrive on any day after 1.30pm and there will be men and women bowling.
They will be pleased to help you any prospective members or those who want to play bowls for the first time.
There are taster sessions where coaching is available and bowls of all sizes can be tried out.
