SOCIETY presentation evening, My Take On Photography, was an opportunity for members to show their work in a non competitive light.
This was admirably demonstrated by two new members.
Bill White gave a presentation of black and white prints taken behind the scenes at the Lord Mayor's Show.
There were some wonderful character studies of some of the people taking part, including television personalities caught in a more relaxed off-stage mood.
There were also interesting candid shots of the crowd.
Some of the expressions on the faces of the people were fascinating particularly the antics of a group of Cub Scouts.
William Bottoa, who is also an astronomer, showed some superb shots of a super nova in close up and with incredible detail.
This required several exposures spread over several minutes.
He also showed a combination shot of the moon in relation to a galaxy.
Unfortunately, for technical reasons, the moon was shown upside down.
