MEMBERS started the year on a light-hearted note with a quiz and celebrating the club's 24th birthday last month.
Barbara Croft made the beautiful cake and members were entertained by Susannah Startup, chorister from St George's church, who excels in a wide range of musical talents, and sang songs from West End shows and a jazz number.
Members welcomed visitors from other Women's Institutes, including Val Graham, district secretary of Kent Gate.
In the second half of the meeting, members were entertained by two of their own, Mary Partidge and Rita Evans, with their own brand of humour.
New members are welcome to join Beckenham WI.
The club always has a selection of good speakers, lively social times and outings.
Beckenham WI is an evening institute and members meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month at Beckenham Methodist Church Hall, Bromley Road, Beckenham.
