Beckenham Photographic Society
THE first print competition produced work of a good level, although higher standards have been achieved in the past.
Event Horizon by Andrew Lloyd showed an Anthony Gormley statue at the Hayward Gallery with a London Eye gondola as a background, giving a very surrealist effect.
Jackdaws Resting on Cottage Roof made one think of an English country village but in fact it was a flat roofed house set in the wilds of Turkey.
The late afternoon sun cast an orange glow over the whole picture which was very effective.
Baby Rhys by Ashley McCulloch was a charming black and white study of a young baby.
The society meets every Wednesday at Clock House Methodist Church Hall, Clock House Road, Beckenham.
