Beckenham Photographic Society
PICTURE on Pieces of Paper was the intriguing title of a presentation by Jay Charnock whose works are very unusual, sinister and mysterious.
She stressed she took pictures purely for her own enjoyment and did not care what competition judges thought. This resulted in a very thought provoking evening.
The most interesting aspect was a panel of photographs of dilapidated American buildings and cars.
These were created by a process in which a 35mm slide is transmitted to a
polaroid negative, the two layers of the
polaroid were separated, printed on art paper and finally scanned on a computer
