More than 100 Thamesmead residents and preschool pupils attended Trust Thamesmead's annual healthy living initiative, Good Choices Day on Friday, 4 July which was hosted by Trust Thamesmead and its Arnott Preschool at the Arnott Community Centre off Bentham Road, Thamesmead.
The day was themed around local service providers giving information out about healthy eating, exercise, personal and community safety and leisure activities with a fun musical performance from drama group Whippersnappers.
Everyone who attended received a goody bag, light refreshments and bowls of fruit salad. Stall presenters included the Charlton Toy Library, a community dentist, Greenwich Borough road and home safety team, Moorings Safer Neighbourhood Team and Gallions Housing Association wardens and Greenwich's community food co-op weekly fruit and vegetable stall.
Positive comments were received from those who attended, including: "The children learnt about eating more fruit and vegetables", and the day was: "Interesting, informative and enjoyable." Whilst feedback from the local service providers included welcoming the opportunity to network, learning more about other services in the area and sharing information.
