Bexleyheath & Crayford Waterside Women’s Institute
CHRISTINE Pope gave members a short history of the making of stained glass and how it has developed through the ages, starting as far back as Roman times.
She showed some small pieces she had made herself and demonstrated how she made them.
The demonstration pieces were small because stained glass is expensive to produce.
Many questions were asked.
A report was given on the annual meeting at Tunbridge Wells which was well attended.
Tickets were sold for the district fish and chip lunch to be hosted by Bexley WI as well as the district event run by Erith WI next month.
The next ten pin bowling session will be on April 30.
Boards were passed round for going on another boat trip and for visiting Kent hop fields and seeing how it was all organised.
The next meeting will be held on Sunday at the District Scouts Headquarters in Mayplace Road West.
It is easily accessible by public transport and also has a car park.
Meetings start sharply at 7.45pm and members try to be there by 7.30pm.
