Bexley RSPB Group
THE group has donated another £1,500 to the society, bringing the total contributed so far this year to £4,500 and the overall total raised since 1978 to £62,500.
At a recent meeting, author David Boag entertained members and friends with a talk on The Natural Quarry and signed copies of his book The Living Quarry.
The group was disappointed to learn of a decrease in participation for the Big Garden Birdwatch in January, but noted the fall in Bexley residents
involved was part of a national trend.
The next outdoor meeting will be a car trip to Crossness Thames Water Nature Reserve, Thamesmead, on Saturday.
Warden Karen Sutton will lead members around normally restricted parts of the reserve.
If you are interested in coming along, meet at Riverside Golf Club, Fairway Drive, off Summerton Way, by 9.45am.
Other meetings include a nightingale evening at Northward Hill RSPB reserve on May 10 and a coach trip to the Wicken Fen Nature Reserve in Cambridgeshire on May 18.
