Bexley RSPB Group
The group has donated another £3,000 to RSPB central funds.
A total of £61,000 has now been donated in this way by the Bexley group since it was founded in September 1978.
The RSPB has approved a request for the latest contribution to be used towards development of Cliffe Pools reserve near Gravesend.
Group leader John Turner received a letter confirming the cash could be used for Cliffe, where a five-star reserve is planned for the bleak marshes used as a backdrop by Charles Dickens in his novel Great Expectations.
The group raises funds through schemes such as raffles, the 100 Club and events including coach trips to reserves, indoor meetings and fairs.
For membership inquiries, call Maurice Ewart on 0208 302 7940.
