THE mayor and mayoress of Bexley, Councillor Nigel Betts and Mrs Hilary Betts were the guests of honour at the annual civic luncheon.

Cllr Betts spoke about what he and the mayoress have been doing so far this year.

He also told everyone about the mayor's charity Stepping Out appeal, working in partnership with Bexley Crossroads to help young people with caring responsibilities.

The club meets at 12.30pm on the third Thursday of the month, except July and August, at The Conservative Club in Bexleyheath Broadway.
