WHAT has happened to shoppers' courtesy and manners? I was brought up to believe if you're in a queue and you have a lot of items and someone behind you just has two or three items, to always at least offer them the chance to go in front of you.
Yet my experiences of only having two or three items seem to be I end up stood behind women who seem to be shopping for England and who just look at you and then go back to unloading onto the conveyor belt. They could not care less.
Other acts of shopping selfishness are when you are the next to be served and a till adjacent to you opens up and the operator asks would you like to come over.
Why do customers behind you nearly knock you over to get to it before you?
Amazingly, I am sad to say it is pensioners who are the worst culprits for doing this Finally, when you hold a door open for people, why doesn't anybody say "thank you" any more?
You simply end up with a stream of people who just sail past as if you are invisible.
At least I can hold my head up high, knowing I was brought up to be respectful and polite to others when out, but, unfortunately there are many shoppers who have no manners or courtesy

Liza, Blackheath says...

Don't make me laugh. People don't know what it is these days. Let alone know how to spell it.
I know where you are coming from. old pensioners soon can hurry them self up when an vacant till appears.
People can also zoom past you while opening a door for someone which wasn't for them in the first place.... with out a care in the world, not even a glance, or a nod, so NO I don't expect a THANK YOU.
Thank You
Liza
