COULD I please make a heartfelt plea for people to make sure all their empty food cans are crushed flat and placed in recycling bins.
It takes just seconds to stamp on it, and could save lives.
It will soon be time for fox cubs to be emerging.
Last year, we happened to look out into the garden and saw a tiny cub stumbling around with an empty cat food tin wedged firmly on its little head.
We rushed to its aid, and eventually removed it, which was no easy feat, as it was well and truly stuck.
Love them or hate them, they do not deserve this kind of horrible death - slow starvation in the dark.
Please spare a thought for wildlife when disposing of your tin cans.
