EACH week the first section of News Shopper I turn to is PubSpy. Can you imagine my excitement when I saw my own local, the Red Lion in Bromley (News Shopper, April 30), reviewed?
But my delight turned to horror when PubSpy discussed guest ales. He said no guest ales were available because of a lack of interest among the locals.
In all the years I have frequented the Red Lion, the only times a particular guest pump has been unavailable was because the brew had been so popular it had run out.

Though I must say there is always an exciting alternative available from the other guest pump and after a decent interval a new replacement ale - it takes time to change a barrel and clear the pipes.
The Red Lion maintains a loyalty among real ale drinkers which must be the envy of every discerning landlord in the south east.
