I WAS rather peeved at hearing the national news about people being fined for putting their rubbish out early.
This was for fear of making our streets untidy and because foxes break open the bags and rubbish is thrown over our walkways.
I can see the sense in this, so why doesn't the council practise what it preaches.
In my area we have our streets swept on Fridays and the lamppost bins emptied at the same time, with fresh bags put in them.
The dirty ones were left at the bottom of the lamppost and the street ones left on the corners of low roads, most times just to be broken open by the foxes.
It is not a pretty sight to see every time you walk outside your house.
Where is the sense in this? It's a pity the council didn't fine its workers instead, rather than laying into us as we are paying for this service.
