LOW turnouts to beat surgeries have forced PC Andy McDonnell to consider carefully how frequently these sessions should be held. He is dismayed at the lack of interest from parishioners and says the numbers have been so small that such regular surgery sessions cannot be justified. Any comments? PC McDonnell can be reached on 01628 816916.

Finally, he urged everyone to be on their guard against uninvited guests on these dark autumn evenings. Make your home secure and leave lights and radios on when you go out.

THERE will be a quiz on Friday, October 19, in the village hall at 7.30pm. Tickets cost 6 per person to include supper, and the proceeds will go to the Senior Citizens Fund. Contact Roger on 01494 439081 for further details.

ON Saturday, October 20, St Lawrence Church is the venue for an evening of light, varied music featuring an assortment of instruments. The church choir will be participating in the entertainment too, which starts at 7.30pm, and is in aid of a young man with cerebral palsy called Peter Robertson. Everyone is welcome. There will be a retiring collection. You can get more information by telephoning Veronica Wayman on 01494 532868.
