No flowers in sight

11:22am Tuesday 29th November 2005

I was disappointed while shopping in Catford and Lewisham to see how few people, both old and young, were wearing a poppy.

This flower doesn't glorify war but is a symbol of thanks to all who defended freedom and democracy.

Some can say it was nothing to do with them, but they fail to realise without these people, Britain wouldn't be here for them today.

To have given £1 wouldn't have damaged anyone's pocket.
