IN RESPONSE to the story Crowds Wing Their Way To The Airshow, I must say Colin Hitchens, the chief executive of the air fair, is completely wrong. Traffic in Downe and the surrounding areas was once again chaos.
I am the manager of Christmas Tree Farm in Downe and for that weekend we may as well close.
We had customers who had spent two-and-a-half hours trying to battle through High Elms to get to us, which from Orpington is a 10-minute journey.
I know of people who spent three hours trying to get to the air fair from Orpington.
The only way forward is advance ticketing only.
