On the 31st of January, our skies were filled with a huge, blue, blood moon.

Now those of you who saw this rare phenomenon may question why it was called a ‘super blue blood moon’. It is called this, because:

1) It was the second full moon in January - making it a blue moon

2) The Earth was blocking the sun from the moon, causing an eclipse - making it a blood moon

3) It was at the closest point to the Earth - making it a ‘super’ moon (14% larger than a normal moon).

The ‘Super blue blood moon’ is a natural phenomenon, which has not been experienced for over 150 years. However, the ‘super blue blood moon’ also has a biblical mystery behind it. In the bible, it says:

‘The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord comes.’

The ‘super blue blood moon’ is destined to bring the end of days… and soon.

The prophecy tells of a great earthquake which will cause destruction, like the one in America last week. It then talks of the sun being turned into darkness, and the moon being turned into blood, just like the moon last night.

If you are superstitious, then perhaps you will believe the end of days is upon us! However, NASA dismissed the claims saying that there was no "scientific basis - not one shred of evidence".

So, perhaps the world is going to end… or perhaps not.

But whether it is or isn’t ending, last night was still an amazing spectacle to behold around the world, and one which no one will forget any time soon.
