While school is quite essential for our future sixth forms or universities, students do not always develop life skills or get a varied insight in the different career options available.

The first ever 'ThinkHERambition' event was held at Google on 15th February 2018; it was developed by Lola Olaore from Accenture. The programme "aims to unlock the full potential of female students and create the next generational of leaders." Directed towards the young ladies of the generation, participation of the event greatly exposed the ladies of the different careers which could be found in the technology sector. The entire day was a packed day with numerous informative yet enjoyable workshops and activities, all displaying various life skills or future apprenticeships some might consider. The addition of a small competition for the very end certainly got all of the students hyped up!

Guests of the event ranged from  years 6-13, who all attended with a curious mind, ready to attain new valuable information. The day was split into different workshops, for example: panel discussion, Barclay's life skills, digital skills, Health and Mental Well-being and a mini career fair.

"I thought it might be quite boring, but I'm surprised as to how much i am enjoying this and how well-planned the event was," Lina, 15, expresses her thoughts of the experience.

"The mini career fair was extremely useful, I found out about different opportunities I can take, which i wasn't aware of before" The mini career fair, consisting of top firms like Google, Accenture, IBM and Barclays, was praised by many of the students present.

Overall, I would have to say the programme was quite a success, it has definitely got me and other students thinking more about the other career options available, which are not as known.

We are definitely waiting for the next event like this one!
