This month, Balance, a chic café serving cakes, salads and fusion street food, became a new addition to one of London’s oldest and most-loved market streets, Lower Marsh. Lower Marsh is home to a wide variety of shops, cafés and market stalls, selling anything from minimalistic succulents to fresh produce to handmade jewellery, and has recently welcomed Balance to join the community.
The café, which opened less than a fortnight ago, includes a coffee and juice bar, and a ‘Make Your Own Salad’ station as well as soups, quiches, pastries, and sandwiches. Balance serves a variety of superfood salads, including a salmon and avocado dill, with rocket, spinach, radish and poppy seeds, and these liven up the café with their splendid array of colours, and contribute to a friendly yet elegant atmosphere.
Claudia Barker, a first-time visitor to Balance, commented: “I have been looking forward to coming to Balance, as I thought it looked great with a nice variety of cakes in the window. Inside, it is really spacious and the lunch salads all look amazing. The only thing I would say is that it could do with a splash of colour inside, as the interior is mostly grey, but overall the decor is very sleek and modern.”
Just a 3-minute walk from Waterloo Station, Balance is a great place to enjoy a fantastic variety of food at any time of the day, whether it be some early morning gluten-free protein pancakes or vibrant fusion street food in the afternoon.
