‘Britain First’ activists held a rally in front of the Bromley Police station on Saturday the 4th of November this weekend. They campaigned about the gang-rape of a 16-year-old girl in Ramsgate by four men, three of whom were Muslim men.

Leader Paul Golding and deputy leader Jayda Fransen of ‘Britain First’ supposedly posted videos online during the trial of the men, and were charged with causing religiously aggregated harassment. They were mainly campaigning as they were “persecuted for exposing the Ramsgate migrant rapists”. They have to report regularly at Bromley police station as part of their bail conditions.

Counter-protest groups such as ‘Unite Against Fascism’ also showed up who rallied against ‘Britain First’. This busy scene on Saturday, had police lining the streets and between the two groups.

Hundreds showed up to take part and witness the rally. ‘Unite Against Fascism’ and other groups joined the rally against ‘British First’, many with banner standing up to Islamophobia. On the ‘Unite Against Fascism’ website, they say ‘Britain First’ are “not wanted in Bromley”.

The rallies were held at noon on Saturday and they definitely have an impact on Bromley and Kent. This event caught the attention of many with so much publicity. Dozens of ‘Britain First’ supporters lined around the police station with British flags to express their views. Directly opposite stood the anti-fascist supporters who wanted to express their view of standing up to Islamophobia.

Fireworks have been going off all weekend but some never expected this protest to light a spark on the community and the areas around.
