As I have grown up, every year I have celebrated Halloween, but people are starting to question how long this will last. Is Halloween going out of fashion?

When Halloween first began it was known as the festival of Samhain where people lit bonfires and dressed up as ghosts. It was part of the ancient Celtic religion in Britain and other parts of Europe.

Nowadays Halloween is celebrated on October 31st, where events such as pumpkin carving and trick or treating take place. Can you imagine the streets being empty on Halloween night? The number of trick or treaters in the UK are getting lower each year. This is due to the roads constantly getting busier and the idea of young children roaming the streets in the dark has become more and more frowned upon.

UK picked up the Halloween traditions from the United States  very recently, within the last .. years. With Christmas seeming to come earlier and earlier each year, shops are already decorated with tinsel and trees before Halloween has a chance to come around. The costume isles are continuously  getting smaller to make room for shops to sell Christmas decorations, is the novelty of Halloween wearing off? Even restaurants and cafe`s are limiting their seasonal Halloween menu items, and bringing out Christmas ones already!

Halloween has no religious meaning, and is even seen less favourably among certain people. So is Halloween still going to be around in hundreds of years? Or is it going to vanish into thin air...
