What is Westgate oxford you may ask? Westgate Oxford is a new shopping mall where it will be the new home for retail and leisure purposes where it is in the hometown of Oxford. Westgate Oxford includes cafes, a cinema, shops, restaurants and the Junkyard Golf Club; there are over 200 confirmed brands for example the breakfast club, hotel chocolate, and John Lewis. It has created many job opportunities, as it was stated that it has created 3500 jobs. Their grand opening was on the 24th October where it expected to reach thousands of shoppers.

While I was in Oxford I was able to speak to some of the locals and get their opinions on the Westgate Oxford, whether or not it was success or a fail. For example, one shopper, Anna, said she was “excited and a fantastic opportunity for Oxford to grow.” Additionally, local Vicky said that she would “be hoping for a job” and gave “praise to the workers as it had taken a long time to rebuild.” However, local Sasha had different views as she said that “it was going to be a huge disappointment because of the chaos it will cause."

In conclusion, Westgate Oxford will work for some people and fulfil their standards, while for others it will not work and be a displeasure. It seems to have catered different individuals as there are tons of shops and places to eat, but this can cause a lot of trouble due to traffic and parking.
