Joe Barron, a self-publishing author from West Wickham, has released his first book that travels through space and time, exploring the wonders of science fiction and a brilliant, make believe world.

‘Sarah: The Empress of the Galaxy’ is a modern take on all things science! Joe Barron incorporated his love for Star Wars, Star Trek and Doctor Who into one novel for young adults.

When I asked Joe where he got his inspiration from he said, “My dad was always a sci-fi fan, and he recommended lots of things for me to read and watch.” Showing that it is so easy to get into reading and having such an inspirational father to provide good books and shows constantly, is a great way to create that appetite for writing.

‘Sarah 1’ is a story about a main female character who is suddenly appointed as the new Empress of the Galactic Empire. Having no knowledge that any planets out there existed other than Earth, Sarah takes it all in her stride and manages to rule the galaxy, take part in a conspiracy theory about a jealous enemy and help her people.

Joe Barron has always enjoyed reading and writing, so to publish his own book for the first time is a major step in his career. ‘Sarah’ is a thrilling read for anyone, boy or girl, interested in taking a trip through space!

Look out for the sequel to ‘Sarah: The Empress of the Galaxy’ which is out next year and so far, the first book is available on Amazon, Kindle or other apps on smart phones.
