Since I’ve decided to take the scheme ‘young reporter’ onboard, and now I’m working on my eighth article, let me talk about something I have learned in the past eight months.

My initial impression towards journalism is that I would never be a journalist in the future as in I am not interested in it and also, I’m not confident to talk to people. I am not a shy person but in order to cope with the situation when I have to participate in the conversation to get the information, I need to be more courageous to break out of the barrier I set myself. This is part of the reason why I’m driven to complete the scheme.

How is my view different from my previous assumption? Although writing report you do really need to spend the time and the efforts which is ‘time consuming’, in order to make it outstanding, but during the time which I was given to prepare a report, I realised that I have got the time to spend outside my house and do some research to plan my report. Instead of thinking it as a hard task, I decided to take it as a reward in which I can think outside of homework and be able to find out about what’s going on around this area. During the time, determination drove me through the planning before a conversation could be made, followed by the actual conversation takes place and then finally my report would be finished.

So, why not have a go at this scheme which provides you the opportunity to be the reporter?
