For decades, Churchill Theatre has been a cornerstone of the art and culture scene at the heart of Bromley, and this year, it is celebrating its 40th birthday.

Since it was opened in 1977 by the Prince of Wales, Churchill Theatre has provided the community with a variety of entertainment – from stand-up comedy shows to highly-anticipated Christmas pantomimes: currently showing are shows such as a theatre-adaptation of David Walliams’s The First Hippo on the Moon, and ‘a series of charity shows’ called They live in you, ‘a musical rollercoaster of song, dance and performance depicting the range of emotions felt’ after the loss of a loved one.

To celebrate its 40th birthday, Churchill Theatre is inviting all of its customers to take part in their ‘year-long celebrations’.

This includes special offers throughout the year, such as a free ice cream on your birthday, a free drink if you too are celebrating your 40th birthday this year, and ‘70s themed’ promotions offered throughout July. Also, on the ‘Big Day’ (19th of July), Churchill Friends will be offered a discount on Footloose tickets and a free birthday cupcake.

However, the celebrations will continue past the theatre’s birthday too, with a VIP Gala dubbed ‘the ultimate theatrical experience’ being held on Sunday 23rd of July. Attendees will be able to enjoy a ‘delicious four course meal’, a silent charity auction to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital, and live entertainment from comedian Joe Pasquale. These festivities will be followed by ‘fabulous music’ from the theatre’s very own resident DJ and live band, to dance the rest of the night away.

(Tickets for the gala cost £125 per person, and the event will take place from to 6:30pm till 1:00am.)
