28 year old, Jodie Stimpson, is one of the worlds greatest female triathletes and often races on the world circuit. Britain is one of the greatest nations for triathletes so unfortunatly Jodie came just short of qualifying for the Olympics in Rio. However this did not put jodie back as she returned from disapointment at the first WTS race yesterday.

Jodie had an amazing race finishing second fractionally behind Andrea Hewitt of New Zeland in a sprint finish. Hewitt, who has not one a WTS race since 2011, comemerated her late husband Luarent Vidal after he suffered a heart attack during a Race two years ago.

As you may imajine the podium was filled with emotion. Not to mention the lady who finished third in the Abu dabi race. Sara Vilic was yet to podium on the world triathlon series circuit untill yesterday where she finished third.

The race itself got of to a fine start with Spains Carolina Routier and USA's Summer Cook leading out the 1500m swim which consited of two laps in the harbour of Yas Island. after a few laps of the 40km bike course an estblished bike course formed of 12 riders including the days podium places.

The run of 10km seperated the feild as stimpson, Hewitt and Villic stormed ahead of the other runners. it wasnt untill the final 200m when the three tried to run to first but it came down to the last 10m untill Hewitt made her move.
