What are you doing on Sunday 5th February? Tickets are selling for the Dartford’s Young Gifted performing arts show; and you do not want to miss out!

The showcase event stars those between twelve and eighteen years old living in and around Dartford. The show emphasises the hidden talents some of the young people have near us; singers, dancers, actors and musicians.

The show is being held at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford Town Centre, beginning at 6pm on the 5th  February. Each act (that passed the audition stage) will get the chance to perform on stage and prove the potential some people truly possess. Tickets are available to buy at the Orchard Theatre or on the Orchard Theatre website, at as low as £9.50 for adults and £7.50 for children/concessions.

The event has been organised by a small team of people (including myself); preparation began January 2016. Throughout the year, the committee have been in charge of fundraising events, such as bag packing, in order to fund the exciting event. Weekly meetings have been held at the Bridge For Young People Centre where organisation went underway. Making phone calls, designing merchandise and hand-making badges were a few of the responsibilities the team had. The process was challenging but definitely worth it – many memories were made and the show is sure to be amazing. DYG were also the category winners for the Try Angle Awards 2016 (community action).

Having seen the acts for myself, I can confidently say it is both surprising and inspiring that the acts have such talent; I am truly jealous. They deserve as much appreciation as they can get; which is why you should come along and support them at the show.

The show was previously held at the Orchard Theatre in 2011. Tom Johnston was one of the acts in 2011, and later took it upon himself to manage and organise the event for 2017. Tom has worked incredibly hard to make this happen and we are certain is it going to turn out brilliantly. Without Tom, none of this would have been possible.

Order your tickets and get ready to watch some entertainment to liven up your Sunday.
