Just one week into office and protests have been help against Donald Trump all across America.

To being with, Trump cut federal money going to organisations that provided information about abortions or provided abortions. This caused a lot of controversy on social media, considering no women were present when deciding on the reproductive rights of women, only men.

Another controversial topic discussed by Trump was the desire to bring back torture, stating that "we have to fight fire with fire". He argued that if they were doing this the American people, then he would level the playing field. However many see this as if he is ‘stooping to their level’.

Even the plan for the Mexican President, Enrique Pena Nieto, fell apart due to Trump insisting the Mexico pay for the famously promised wall. He accepted the fact that the U.S. has the right to build a wall, but refuses to pay for it. This does make perfect sense however, since if Trump wants a wall, he should use his own money to build it. This is one of the flaws of his amazing plan which had his voters head over heels, which he constantly brought up while he was making speeches as a candidate. Had he considered this possible flaw then perhaps he wouldn’t find himself in this mess.

The ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) took the Trump administration to federal court over the “Muslim ban”, stopping refugees and immigrants from entering the U.S., from certain countries. They succeeded in stopping Trump from deporting refugees, in stopping Trump sending them back to the war and persecution they fled from.

However the problems continue over to Britain, where parliament says that May should have condemned Trump for his actions, and that we should not be supporting a “fascist” leader as it is not what we stand for. Others have taken a slightly different approach in that yes – what Trump is doing is wrong – but we need the U.S. for trade after our country’s decision to leave the EU, meaning that EU countries will likely be tighter with us on trade.

Protests have been going on in airports right across the U.S., many saying that what Trump is attempting to accomplish is unconstitutional. After just one week in office he found himself losing his first legal battle, no doubt to be the first of many.
