Technology has been etched into our lives slowly but steadily, our life has become easier and more enjoyable. Nowadays we find it impossible to function if we don't have a computer to turn to or a phone in our hand. We live in a connected world, with everything at the tips of your fingertips. With just the touch of a button you can do everything you want in the comfort of your own home. The development of technology has arguably been the biggest turning point in human history so far, it has allowed us to progress and advance giving us options we never had before.

The last few years have been all about the smart devices, like tablets and Ipads and touch screen phones. Laptops, with their "untouchable" screens, have yet to match any Ipads' featherweight portability and swift response times. However, a device that matches with all a person's needs are known as ultraportable notebooks - Ultra books - these have been around for a couple of years, bringing a complete computing experience into areas of life which, until now have only been partially filled by smaller technologies such as tablets and mart phones. These have been in high demand ever since they came out and newer versions are being made which cater to more of the publics' desires.

By 2020 even space holidays will be made available to the public. Right now it costs around £25 million to blast off and chill at the International Space Station, or £140,000 for a sub-oriental space flight from Virgin Galactic. But the market is growing faster, most companies are starting to realise that within five years, companies like Space Island, Galactic Suite, and Orbital Technologies may realise their companies missions, with space tourism packages ranging from £7,000 up-and-backs to £7,000,000 five-nights in an orbiting hotel suite.

The new driverless cars concept is also kicking in, these cars will be completely crash proof because they have sensors and this will reduce the number of car accidents drastically. Driverless cars will also be able to connect with other cars, so if your friend was in the car next to you, your car would be able to register and process that and tell you. These cars will also be run on electricity and not petrol which is good for the environment, and it also means that the prices to own a car will be a lot less because the expenditure after won't be quite so much.

Virtual reality also known as VR is a highly catching on trend, it is a headset that stimulates 3D images making you feel like you are really in that place. Virtual realities artificially create sensory experiences, which can include sight, hearing, touch and smell. Recently there have been a lot of video games made with virtual reality because it helps the player to get even more into the game which obviously means more people will play the game, resulting in the makers receiving more money.

With the rise of new technology we have also seen major development in security measures. Nowadays to keep things especially safe there have been higher range of safety devices. There are now eye detectors that will only open on scan of a certain persons eye, or by handprint, soon this kind of technology will be controlling houses which will make houses safer from crime. This is quite a debatable subject as many people think that with using technology like that, their houses will be more under threat and will also be susceptible to hackers. I interviewed my parents about how they would feel leaving their house in the protection of this kind of technology, "I think it's a wonderful idea because sooner or later technology will have advanced to that amount and the best and safest option will be to use it".

Wearable technology -wearables- are clothing and accessories incorporating computer and advanced electronic technologies. The designs often incorporate practical functions and features, but may also be purely critical or aesthetic agenda. Wearables have different uses, some are used for monitoring calories or weight loss and others can be used to just monitor your health. Examples of wearable technology is Google Glass. Google Glass can be used for almost everything, watching videos, calling, texting all contained behind one tiny frame of glass.

In conclusion, technology has changed a great deal in our life and will continue to do so for a long time. It has definitely made our lives better and more versatile. It has allowed us to accomplish many things we wouldn't have thought to be possible before. It has surprised us in different ways for good and bad and will continue to do so in the future. We take for granted a lot of the modern technology we have nowadays and feel like we wouldn't be able to carry on with our normal day to day lives without it however hundreds of years ago they didn't have the kind of technology we are do lucky to have today.
