January has quickly come to an end, and with these cold conditions hitting England, it surely wasn’t a great end to the start of the year, with dark early nights, and temperatures hitting single figures, to even minus numbers during the January month. We all know that the weather in January in Europe is somewhat lacking if you're craving winter sun.

Not only is it one of the coldest months of the year, but the days are short and sunshine hours are near their lowest. With amounts of snow hitting the UK, it wasn’t enough to keep everyone away from the school run. Even the shortest month of the year February is due to have cold weather during the course of the month, with temperatures predicted around the maximum of 13C.

With statistics from ‘weather2travel.com’, it is predicted that February is going to have a maximum of 2 hours of sunshine per day, an estimate of 12 days with some rainfall, 2°C as a minimum night-time temperature, 37 mm of monthly rainfall, and a predicted time of 10 hours of daylight per day.

On england.nhs.uk, there was a ‘Cold weather alert’, which was posted on the 30th January 2015 - 13:20, where it stated, ‘There is a 90% probability of severe cold weather and icy conditions and possibly heavy snow between 0900 on Friday 30 January and 0700 on Thursday 5 February in parts of England. This weather could increase the health risks to vulnerable patients and disrupt the delivery of services.’ Londoners are hoping that Summer 2015 will pay off, from a this very cold, icy start of the year.
